Brewers | Ryan Braun could be out longer
Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (hand) had a second opinion on his right hand that confirmed the original diagnoses, but he could take longer than 15 days to heal from his injury. It's now unlikely that Braun will be ready to return from the disabled list when eligible Tuesday, June 25. Braun could now take a month to return to allow a bruise and inflamed nerve near his right thumb to heal. He said that surgery is not an option. "We'll see what happens at the end of this DL, and it sounds like he's going to have to swing and see how it feels and see if we can cushion it enough to when he goes out there, we don't go back to where he was when we went on the DL," manager Ron Roenicke said.
Fantasy Tip: The Brew Crew will obviously be cautious not to bring Braun back prematurely. You should fully expect his DL stint to linger past the 15 days, and it'll depend on how he feels when he resumes swinging a bat on how quickly he returns after that. Monitor his progress.
