White Sox | Tim Anderson agrees to contract

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson, the club's first-round pick in the 2013 First Year Players Draft, has agreed to sign for $2,164,000. Baseball America writer Jim Callis writes that Anderson has very good speed and solid pop and that he could be Brandon Phillips at shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Callis will no doubt have the attention of prospect hounds with that comment, but it took the Cincinnati Reds' second baseman several years and a new organization to display his All-Star capability as a hitter. It's unclear whether Anderson can be a fast riser through the ChiSox's system.
