NFL | Terrell Owens waiting out the process

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens was asked on NFL Network show "NFL AM" whether he's heard from an NFL team since his release from the Seattle Seahawks in training camp last year. "Nothing as of right now," he said. "So I understand the process. Obviously teams are really taking a closer look in evaluating their younger players. Being a free agent, I understand that later in the months as training camp starts, they'll start looking for veterans."

Owens relayed that he'd best fit a team that runs a West Coast offense, like the Minnesota Vikings or Kansas City Chiefs. He has a good relationship with Vikings wide receivers coach George Stewart, and he played for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid when Reid coached the Philadelphia Eagles.

Owens also suggested that teams aren't pursuing him as punishment for his past behavior. "It's all politics," he said. "I think a lot of it has to do with my reputation, things that I've done early in my career. ..."

Fantasy Tip: Whatever TO thinks, a great opportunity isn't likely to emerge. It's hard to see him earning a significant role even if he gets a shot, obviously, so we'd see if he was then serious about accepting that he may have to retire.
