Patriots | Rob Gronkowski deal gives team long-term flexibility
The New England Patriots' contract with TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) effectively protects them should his injuries limit or halt his career in the future. After the 2015 season, New England must decide whether to pick up a $10 million option that would activate the final four years of his deal, which would then end in 2019.
Fantasy Tip: Meaning the Pats have time to decide on their long-term commitment to the talented but increasingly brittle catcher. Fantasy owners will simply have to worry about whether he'll be ready for Week 1.
