Phillies | Carlos Ruiz could return in two weeks
Philadelphia Phillies C Carlos Ruiz (hamstring) is optimistic he can return in two weeks from his strained right hamstring. He is eyeing June 17 as a return date after he took swings in the cages for the first time Tuesday, June 4, and ran Monday, June 3. Ruiz will likely go on a minor league rehab assignment.
Fantasy Tip: Ruiz is on the waiver wire in most mixed leagues thanks to his injury and his poor start after returning to the season late after a PED-related suspension. He should be picked up again in two-catcher leagues upon his return. Those in deeper mixed leagues that start only one catcher can probably hold off for now. In the meantime, Erik Kratz will handle the bulk of the catching duties in Philly.
