Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia not bothered by thumb
Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell thinks 2B Dustin Pedroia (thumb) is 100 percent recovered from his thumb injury that he suffered on Opening Day this year. He sustained a complete tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb while sliding head first into first base. Pedroia has started all 53 games for the team this year and is hitting .332 on the year. In his last 22 games, he has a slash line of .384/.459/.581 with eight doubles and three home runs.
Fantasy Tip: It's clear that Pedroia's thumb injury isn't affecting his hitting at this time, although it might be playing a small part in his power production. Either way, the thumb injury shouldn't get in his way for the remainder of the season. The fact that he can't do additional damage to it is great news.
