Redskins | Robert Griffin feels good about starting opener
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) said he could envision himself starting the team's regular season opener in September even if he is unable to play in any of his team's preseason games. "I've thought about that and yeah, I would be comfortable with that," Griffin said over the weekend. "That's all I can say. I have no control over whether I play in the preseason or not. I would be comfortable running out of the tunnel at FedEx Field with the smoke and everything."
Fantasy Tip: It is anything but a certainty Griffin will be ready Sept. 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he is still worth a look as a high-end No. 2 fantasy QB. Be sure to have a quality starter, however, just in case his knee forces him to miss more time. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to draft Griffin and QB Kirk Cousins, dropping the latter once Griffin is able to resume play.
