Mets | Ike Davis won't be sent down this weekend
New York Mets 1B Ike Davis won't be sent down to the minors this weekend, but "maybe after the weekend," according to people with knowledge of the team's thinking. Davis finished with 32 home runs and 90 RBIs last year after starting off extremely slow, which bought him some trust this year. "We will give it a little more time," said one source. "Things can change any time for the good." Some people in the organization think Davis would benefit mentally from a few weeks away, but people close to Davis think he remains confident and wants to work out his issues in the majors.
Fantasy Tip: If Davis doesn't drastically turn things around this weekend, it appears likely that he'll be demoted to the minors. If you've hung onto him this long in a deep mixed league, you might as well wait it out until the Mets determine what they'll do with him to get him right. Meanwhile, leave him on your bench.
