Angels | Albert Pujols' pain the same
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Albert Pujols (foot) plans to play first base at least three of the four games against the Seattle Mariners. "It's the same," Pujols said about the pain in his left foot, "but I want to play first. I think I can play first." Some days his foot feels worse than others, but it doesn't bother him when he's hitting, but only when he begins to run at full speed, hits the bag or stands around for long periods of time. Manager Mike Scioscia said Pujols' starts at first base will be determined on a day-to-day basis. Surgery to correct the issue would put Pujols out for a few weeks and isn't believed to be necessary.
Fantasy Tip: It's very possible that Pujols could have to put up with this pain for the rest of the season. How much that affects his offensive production remains to be seen, but the good news is that he doesn't appear to be in pain during his at-bats. Trading Pujols might not be a bad idea, but you're unlikely to get a great deal in return now that his foot problems are well-documented.
