Royals | No closer controversy

Kansas City Royals RP Greg Holland closed out both games of the doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox Sunday, April 21, and he appears to be firmly set in the team's closer role after starting the year out in a rough patch. "I was wondering," manager Ned Yost admitted, "what his stuff was going to be like after saving the first game. He came out and had dynamic stuff in the second game." Holland and the coaching staff determined that he was overusing his fastball to try and get ahead of hitters instead of mixing in his three pitches aggressively. Holland has now retired all nine hitters he's faced in his last three outings.

Fantasy Tip: Yost hasn't lost confidence in Holland through his early season rough patch, so you shouldn't either. It'll take a much more prolonged slump out of him for Yost to consider giving Kelvin Herrera regular save opps. Herrera hit a rough patch of his own, but he's still worth owning in deeper leagues.
