Blue Jays | Brett Lawrie to make debut at 3B
Toronto Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie (rib cage) will start at third base in his season debut Tuesday, April 16, even though he played two games at second base during his rehab assignment. The Blue Jays liked Lawrie's performance at the keystone, so he may move over to second base on occasion. "It's nice to have flexibility," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said. "Brett's our third baseman. (Jose) Bautista is our right fielder. This just gives us one more option. And that's never a bad thing." OF Jose Bautista also prefers to stay in right field.
Fantasy Tip: Get Lawrie back in your lineup today. It doesn't appear that Lawrie will be moved over to second base very often, unless it's permanently later in the season. If he does play more second base later in the season after Jose Reyes (ankle) returns, it'll likely mean less playing time for either Maicer Izturis or Emilio Bonifacio.
