Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton to swing
Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton (shoulder) said his bruised left shoulder has improved enough to test it by swinging Tuesday, April 16. He thinks he suffered the injury more than a week ago in New York while diving in the outfield. An MRI exam has shown no structural damage, and he was cleared to test his shoulder Tuesday. Stanton said he'll play Tuesday if he can swing without pain or restriction. He's hitting only .167 and has no home runs or RBIs in nine games.
Fantasy Tip: The team is trying to hold off on having to make a decision to place Stanton on the disabled list, but if the slugger can't make it back later this week, expect that to be their course of action. Make backup plans in your outfield, if you haven't already, in case Stanton lands on the DL.
