Dodgers | Zack Greinke suffers fractured collarbone
Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zack Greinke (collarbone) suffered a fractured left collarbone Thursday, April 11, during an on-field brawl with the San Diego Padres. Greinke hit San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin with a pitch, causing Quentin to charge the mound and both benches to empty. In the ensuing fight, Greinke injured his collarbone when his left shoulder collided with Quentin's body. No timetable has been given for Greinke's return or how long rehab will take.
Fantasy Tip: Oh, boy. Not the news you want to hear when you have signed one of the game's dominant pitchers to a six-year, $147 million contract. Be prepared for Greinke to miss some time, maybe 6-8 weeks, although the good news (if any) is the injury occurred in Greinke's non-throwing shoulder. Still, this could be a serious setback for the Dodgers and a major blow for your fantasy team. Chris Capuano replaced Greinke on the mound, but who will replace Greinke in the starting rotation should he miss time is up in the air.
