Yankees | Mark Teixeira expects to be cleared soon
New York Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (wrist) expects to be cleared to resume swinging a bat as early as Friday, April 12, when he will be looked at by Dr. Melvin Rosenwasser, the team's wrist and hand specialist. Teixeira said he has no pain in his wrist, and he hopes to start taking batting practice for a week. He plans to cut back on his workload in the cages once he's fully healthy, because he thinks overuse is what initially caused the injury.
Fantasy Tip: Teixeira is on track to return sometime in May, but until he starts swinging again, we can't be sure as to when that will be. Positive news in his rehab should be encouraging to his owners, though. Sit tight.
