Cubs | Dale Sveum comments on Carlos Marmol
Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum commented on his willingness to stick with RP Carlos Marmol as the team's closer after two shaky outings to begin this season. "I went with it three months last year and he got out of all (the jams)," Sveum, said. "It wasn't like he was pitch efficient last year when he was getting out of all of them." Sveum had already used his three setup men before the ninth Thursday, April 4, but he noted that Marmol didn't throw bad in the outing. RP Hisanori Takahashi was warming up when Marmol was teetering. "I was leaving (Marmol) in until he gave it up," Sveum said.
Fantasy Tip: Sveum continues to back Marmol, but there is no denying that Marmol is on extremely shaky ground. If he were to blow his next save opp, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Sveum change some things up.
