Nationals | Jayson Werth talks about wrist injury
Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (wrist) hit only three home runs due to weakness in his wrist at the end of last season after he returned from wrist surgery, and it caused him to use a lighter bat. He said there's a chance that he won't have full strength in his wrist for two years after the surgery, and he may never be the same as he was. However, he's happy with the way it's been feeling this year, and he's using a standard bat. Manager Davey Johnson said "he doesn't feel comfortable about the way he's attacking the ball. He's not staying on top." But that has nothing to do with his wrist injury from last year. He's started out 0-for-8 with two strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Werth's power could return from his disappointing 2012 season, but don't expect it to return anywhere near his 2008-10 levels. His batting average probably won't do you any favors, either.
