Yankees | Hiroki Kuroda removed from start

New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (hand) was removed from his start Wednesday, April 3, after 1 1/3 innings. After the right-hander was hit on his pitching hand with a comebacker up the middle, he recorded a walk and hit two batters, including one with the bases loaded.

Fantasy Tip: He finished with two earned runs and four hits allowed on 41 pitches (23 strikes). Cold weather at Yankee Stadium might have contributed, but it appeared that he lost his typically pristine control after deflecting the Shane Victorino up-the-middle liner. Keep an eye on updates as he may have to miss time; Yankees coaches were quick to remove him after his second plunked opponent. If Kuroda is sidelined, David Phelps may stick in the rotation even after Phil Hughes (shoulder) returns. No other Yankees alternative deserves attention in a mixed league.
