Indians | Skipper doesn't push Justin Masterson

Cleveland Indians SP Justin Masterson made his season debut by allowing one run and three hits over six innings in a win against the Toronto Blue Jays, and he retired 11 straight batters to finish the night. Manager Terry Francona was being cautious by lifting him early. "He was probably pitching better when we took him out than he was earlier in the game," Francona said. "I just thought that was enough for a first start."

Fantasy Tip: It was a very good start for Masterson against a quality lineup, especially on the road. Still, he remains more of a fantasy option in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats. If he can replicate these kinds of results on a regular basis, he'll re-emerge as a solid option in all formats. His next scheduled start is set for Sunday, April 7, against the Tampa Bay Rays.
