Red Sox | Jackie Bradley has 50-50 chance to make team
Boston Red Sox OF Jackie Bradley has a 50-50 shot to make the team's opening day roster, according to one source. The team is keeping an open mind as far as putting Bradley on the team, but the injuries to DH David Ortiz (heels, Achilles') and SS Stephen Drew (concussion) have bolstered his chances. Bradley hasn't spent any time above Class AA. If he were to make the team, he'd be the everyday left fielder with OF Jonny Gomes starting as the designated hitter with Ortiz out. Bradley could start in the majors and then be sent down when Ortiz returns, so the team doesn't impact his service time. Bradley has a slash line of .444/.545/.578 in spring training.
Fantasy Tip: Bradley's impressive showing this spring will go a long way in helping him make an impact on the major league roster this year even if he doesn't break camp with the team. Keeper leaguers and AL-only owners should be concerned with this development.
