Rockies | Interested in Kyle Lohse

The Colorado Rockies are keeping tabs on free-agent SP Kyle Lohse (Cardinals) and they have inquired about him, according to major league sources. However, they will only sign him "if by a very, very remote chance he just flat out doesn't have anything." Lohse might prefer to pitch for a team that plays in a less hitter-friendly park, too. The Texas Rangers and Milwaukee Brewers are also interested in Lohse. He doesn't want to wait until after June to sign with a team, and he's seeking at least a two-year, $26.5 million deal that SP Ryan Dempster received from the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Lohse is too good of a pitcher to go unsigned past June, but a team might have to be desperate in order to take the leap and forfeit a fourth-round pick. Texas seems to be the best bet because of their rotation concerns.
