Giants | More on Pablo Sandoval
Updating previous reports, San Francisco Giants 3B Pablo Sandoval (elbow) will be re-evaluated this weekend, and the trainers' goal is to get his ulnar nerve irritation to calm down. There is no timetable for when he'll resume throwing, but he won't need many at-bats to be ready for the season since he participated in the World Baseball Classic. Trainer Dave Groeschner said Sandoval had a similar injury in 2009 and only missed four or five days.
Fantasy Tip: The good news: Sandoval has dealt with this before and the trainers seem to be optimistic that it won't set him back much. The bad news: It isn't a lock that the injury won't continue to bother him into the season, and if that's the case, he may need surgery and wind up missing extended time.
