Yankees | Derek Jeter talks about setback
New York Yankees SS Derek Jeter (ankle) said doctors told him he was going to experience some stiffness in his ankle from playing this spring. "It's not in the area I broke," Jeter said. "I was told, you're going to feel it, not necessarily in the ankle but around the ankle. It's normal. You got to deal with it and move on. If I wasn't told, I'd be concerned." Jeter hinted that he would be playing if it were the regular season. He has played in five spring games and is hitting .273 with three hits in 11 at-bats.
Fantasy Tip: Jeter should be fine, but Joe Girardi may choose to rest the star shortstop frequently during the season to keep him healthy. It's also unclear how his surgically repaired ankle will affect his already declining power stroke.
