Yankees | More on Mark Teixeira
The New York Yankees think there is a 70 percent chance that 1B Mark Teixeira (wrist) will not need to have season-ending surgery to fix a torn tendon sheath in his right wrist. The team will now be extra cautious with his rehab and return to the lineup. "This is one of those things, I can't come back too early," Teixeira said. "Unfortunately, if I try to play too early, we could miss the whole season, and we don't want that. I don't know if it's going to be middle of May, beginning of May, beginning of June. I don't know when it is, but I know that there's a whole bunch of season left - and the time that really matters is the playoffs."
Fantasy Tip: Texeira continues to slide down draft boards, but at the right price in the middle-to-late rounds as a corner infielder, he's still somewhat attractive, especially if your league has DL spots. Juan Rivera should see most of the playing time at first base in his absence.
