Dodgers | Carl Crawford makes spring debut
Los Angeles Dodgers OF Carl Crawford (elbow) made his Cactus League spring debut Sunday, March 17, serving as the designated hitter. He was hitless in three at-bats in his first major league game action since Aug. 19. "It was nice to be back on the field, playing against a big-league club," Crawford said. "The nerves were racing a little bit, but once I had that first at-bat, I felt a lot better."
Fantasy Tip: Crawford has not been medically cleared to throw, and vice president of medical services Stan Conte told manager Don Mattingly Crawford won't be able to throw at full strength until May. That likely means Crawford will see limited duty early on, and he could start the season simply as a pinch hitter. Fantasy owners will still want to grab Crawford on Draft Day, but perhaps only in the middle rounds in mixed leagues.
