Red Sox | Could carry three catchers at beginning of season

The Boston Red Sox have not ruled out carrying three catchers on their Opening Day roster if DH David Ortiz (heels, Achilles') starts the season on the disabled list, although the idea still remains unlikely. Manager John Farrell said C Ryan Lavarnway is not a candidate to be used as the designated hitter and the idea has not been discussed with C Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
