Mets | Daniel Murphy gives thumbs up
New York Mets 2B Daniel Murphy (intercostal) took batting practice Friday, March 15, and played five innings at second base. "It felt good," Murphy said. "It was good to get out there. I really appreciate the minor league guys, the coaching staff letting me come out there. It took a little while to get my legs underneath me, but I felt better at the end than I did at the beginning."
Fantasy Tip: This is a positive step forward for Murphy, but he still has a ways to go before he's ready to be penciled in on opening day. Assuming he has no setbacks, he should be ready. He'll need to be careful, though, because intercostal injuries are trick and easily resurface.
