Mets | Terry Collins not optimistic on David Wright
New York Mets manager Terry Collins doesn't sound optimistic that 3B David Wright (intercostal) will be ready for opening day. "You saw what happened to Murph. Murph has been out a month. Last year David had it, he missed a month. Jason Bay missed a month (in 2012). I'm trying to be optimistic, knowing this kid is as tough as he is. … But I'm sure it will be two to three weeks," Collins said. 2B Justin Turner will receive the bulk of the work at third base in spring training now.
Fantasy Tip: You should take a similar approach if you already own Wright or plan on drafting him in the coming weeks. Make backup plans at the hot corner for the early portion of the season.
