Orioles | Nick Markakis optimistic

Baltimore Orioles OF Nick Markakis (neck) is optimistic that he'll be ready for opening day after dealing with a small herniated disc in his neck. A spine specialist suggested that he rest two to three weeks to let the inflammation and pain subside. "It's already been a week, so we will see where we are at in seven to 10 days," Markakis said. "But he also told me it could be eight to 12 weeks before I'm completely symptom free. We're looking on the positive side. We are going in the right direction with getting all the inflammation and pain out right now."
