Cubs | Ian Stewart expected to make team
Chicago Cubs 3B Ian Stewart (quadriceps) has been slow to return from a left quadriceps injury, and he is reportedly not even close to playing in Cactus League spring games. However, no one on the coaching staff has mentioned the possibility he will not make the team even if he needs a stint on the 15-day disabled list to start the season. The Cubs have to make a decision on Stewart before the end of camp. They can release him and pay him just $500,000 of his $2 million contract. If he makes the Opening Day roster, the entire $2 million is guaranteed.
