Red Sox | Daniel Bard looks good after adjustments
Boston Red Sox RP Daniel Bard struck out the side in his outing Thursday, March 7, and he looked more like the pitcher he was before last season's implosion, throwing his fastball and hitting 97 mph on the radar gun. He also displayed his biting slider after taking nine days between outings to work with pitching coach Juan Nieves on footwork and the angle of his delivery. Bard worked to keep his right shoulder from dipping and creating a side-to-side motion with his pitches instead of up-and-down. "He stayed behind a lot of fastballs," said manager John Farrell. "It was improved command, improved velocity. It was a very good day for him."
