Red Sox | David Ortiz optimistic
Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz (Achilles') is optimistic that he'll be ready to play on opening day after running the bases Monday, March 4. He said he needs between 50 and 60 at-bats this spring before the start of the season. "It feels good," he said. "When I get going I'm fine. The problem is once I cool off, I start to get sore, but the doctor says it will go away. It's just part of the treatment, part of (when you) start doing things." Ortiz said his Achilles' is structurally sound.
