Cubs | Matt Garza to open season on disabled list
Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum said SP Matt Garza (lat) will start the season on the disabled list, after he experienced some tightness in his side while rehabbing. He could miss the first month of the regular season since he would probably only receive two Cactus League starts.
Fantasy Tip: With the injuries to Garza and Scott Baker (elbow), both Travis Wood and Carlos Villanueva will crack the opening day rotation. Remember, Garza's season ended early last year due to a stress reaction in his elbow. Lat injuries are tricky, so his value will surely drop on draft day. If he can recover by early May, he could be a nice value pick for the middle of your rotation. Wood and Villanueva should only be considered late in NL-only leagues.
