Red Sox | David Ortiz expected back Friday

Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz (personal) is expected back in camp some time Friday, March 1, night after leaving camp Wednesday, Feb. 27, for personal reasons. Manager John Farrell did not elaborate on the reason for Ortiz's absence, but did confirm it was unrelated to his recovery from last season's Achilles' strain.
