Indians | Chris Perez won't pitch in WBC
Cleveland Indians RP Chris Perez's (shoulder) shoulder strain will keep him from participating for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, and he is at risk of not being ready for opening day. He is dealing with a subscapularis strain and will be shut down for seven to 10 days. Perez, however, isn't too worried about the injury. RP Vinnie Pestano, who is a candidate to close if Perez misses regular season time, still plans on playing in the WBC.
