Reds | Aroldis Chapman sharp in first outing
Cincinnati Reds SP Aroldis Chapman retired all six batters he faced while striking out one in his first spring start Thursday, Feb. 28. He threw a surprising amount of offspeed pitches and hitters failed to make solid contact with his splitter and slider. "That was nice," pitching coach Bryan Price said. "He was able to repeat some good pitches. He threw different pitches for strikes – the fastball, the slider and the split (fingered pitch). He was pretty sharp for this early in camp."
