Giants | Madison Bumgarner worked on mechanics
San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner worked hard on correcting his mechanics in the offseason, and he looked much tighter in his spring outing Monday, Feb. 25. He isn't throwing across his body as much as he was last season, and by doing so he thinks he'll be better able to spot his fastball in the zone. Bumgarner has other things he wants to work on, too. "I want to control the running game more," Bumgarner said. "Last year, my time to the plate was so slow. It didn't matter if I slide-stepped or not. I didn't give Buster a shot. So I'll work on that." He had the most stolen bases against of any other left-handed pitcher last year, as opponents were successful in 27 of their 37 attempts against him.
