Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez has impressed manager Ron Washington so far this spring as he attempts to crack the starting rotation. "He's shown good focus," Washington said. "He's showing a good changeup, a good breaking ball and is keeping his fastball down with good movement around both sides of the plate. Now, can he do that when a hitter walks up there? That is what is going to separate him."
