Pirates | Jason Grilli took less money to stay

Pittsburgh Pirates RP Jason Grilli was upset with the way the media misinterpreted comments about the team's front office efforts at the last non-waiver trade deadline. "Ridiculous. Why would I criticize the team, the place I'm at?" Grilli said. "Better yet, if I felt that way, why would I come back here?" Grilli is getting his first opportunity to be a closer, but he took less money over other two-year tenders for slightly more money from both the Chicago Cubs and Toronto Blue Jays.
