Colts | Dwight Freeney was expecting an offer

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent DE Dwight Freeney said he expecting the team to offer him some type of contract this offseason and that he probably would have accepted it but was surprised when the team told him he was not returning. "I'll be honest with you, I was surprised the way it happened," Freeney said. "I figured they would offer me something low and I would just accept it, go the last few years and retire a Colt and that would be it."
