Twins | Scott Diamond could start opening day
Minnesota Twins SP Scott Diamond (elbow) is the front-runner to be the team's opening day starter depending on how he progresses from offseason elbow surgery. Diamond threw off the mound for the second straight day Wednesday, Feb. 20, and will throw a full bullpen Friday, Feb. 22, before facing hitters next week. "The ball is coming out good but it's just about finding the mechanics and that release point," Diamond said. "Everything is lining up, which is positive. I'm just trying to get out the kinks but structurally it feels awesome. I'm not having any discomfort or tightness the next day. So basically, the recovery is going really well."
