Orioles | Jair Jurrjens deal finalized

Updating a previous report, the Baltimore Orioles announced Friday, Feb. 15, that they have signed SP Jair Jurrjens (knee) to a minor-league contract, and he is expected to report to camp Saturday, Feb. 16. "Jurrjens has a good track record and is still young. We hope he can regain the form which made him an All-Star in 2011," general manager Dan Duqette said.

Fantasy Tip: Jurrjens was non-tendered by the Braves after going 3-4 with a 6.89 ERA in 11 games last season. He will compete for a spot in the rotation, joining a crowded field for the fifth-starter job. It is possible he could start the season with Triple-A Norfolk, too. He is a risky play in all but the deepest of AL-only fantasy leagues until he proves his health.
