Mets | Bobby Parnell more effective
New York Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen said RP Bobby Parnell was more effective last year because the separation in the velocity between his fastball and knuckle-curve was more drastic. Parnell used to throw his breaking pitches in the upper-80s but now is throwing his knuckle-curve in the lower 80s. Warthen also said Parnell rarely throws a flat knuckle-curve, which was an issue when he used a slider.
