Eagles | Michael Vick feels he can still be a running QB
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick said he can still be effective as a running quarterback, particularly in an offense that will feature plenty of designed runs under head coach Chip Kelly. Vick rushed for 1,039 yards with the Atlanta Falcons in 2006. "It wasn't hard. All you have to do is train. I feel as if I can still do that. To what level? I don't know, but the way I feel, I can do it at a high level," Vick said.
Fantasy Tip: There are questions as to whether Vick can be effective in Kelly's offense. He does not get rid of the football quickly at times, which Kelly has said he is looking for in a quarterback. Vick may have some mobility left at 32 (he will turn 33 in June), but Kelly's offense features plenty of designed runs and Vick has struggled in that area. Over the last two seasons, he averaged 6.7 yards per rush on scrambles and only 1.7 yards on designed runs. There is some upside for Vick in 2013, but still some concerns as well.
