Cubs | Scott Baker throws
Chicago Cubs SP Scott Baker (elbow) threw 40 pitches at roughly 70 percent effort Tuesday, Feb. 12, and the team will be cautious with him this spring as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Baker is encouraged with how he's feeling. However, the team is unsure if Baker will be ready for the start of the regular season. "I'm as far along as I'm supposed to be right now," Baker said. "I would say '100 percent' would be pitching in games, and obviously, there are no games to pitch in. That's part of the process is using spring training to prepare for the season."
