Mets | Bobby Parnell named closer
New York Mets manager Terry Collins has named RP Bobby Parnell the closer to start the season.
Fantasy Tip: Parnell is clearly the Mets' long-term solution to the ninth inning, and he probably gives them the best option there this year, too. He has the tools to be a successful closer in the majors, but it remains to be seen if he can hold off a healthy Frank Francisco or Brandon Lyon all season. It's not out of the realm of possibility that New York could consider a closer-by-committee at some point, depending on the kind of start that Parnell has in the role.
