Mets | League's stance unchanged on 11th pick
Major League Baseball's stance on whether the New York Mets' 11th overall pick in the draft should be protected has not changed, according to a source. The league feels only the first 10 picks in the draft are protected, not the picks of the teams with the 10 worst records the prior season. The Mets moved to No. 11 after the Pittsburgh Pirates were given the 10th pick for failing to sign last year's top pick.
