Rangers | Kyle McClellan making progress
Texas Rangers SP Kyle McClellan (shoulder) has resumed throwing from a mound, as he continues to make progress in his recovery from shoulder surgery. General manager Jon Daniels said Tuesday, Feb. 5, that McClellan has been cleared for full participation in spring training, but he will be treated cautiously during the early stage.
Fantasy Tip: McClellan will be considered for either the fifth starter or long reliever roles. He won 12 games in 2011 in 17 starts and 26 relief appearances, and from 2008-11, McClellan tied for 10th in the majors with 68 holds. He can be a useful fantasy option when healthy, especially in AL-only formats.
