Patriots | Unwilling to give Aqib Talib extension
The New England Patriots appear hesitant to give impending free-agent CB Aqib Talib a multi-year contract because there are enough concerns over his work ethic, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Talib reportedly passed on a chance to put in extra work at times this season, and the team is worried about how he will handle a long-term deal given his behavioral problems in the past. New England would prefer to sign him to a one-year pact. However, Talib is likely to receive more lucrative offers on the open market because of the lack of depth of cornerback prospects on the open market. He could receive offers of as much as $8 or $10 million in free agency.
