Yankees | Derek Jeter in good place
New York Yankees SS Derek Jeter (ankle) said he's still exactly where he needs to be in his rehab from a broken ankle. "Everything's been good, everything's right where it needs to be," said Jeter, who is rehabbing from surgery to repair a broken left ankle. "The goal is April 1, that's when we start our season. I'm progressing, right where I need to be." He hit at the team's minor league complex and also took 55 ground balls Monday, Feb. 4, however, he isn't running yet and he won't until position players report to spring training Feb. 17. Jeter said he "probably wouldn't" play in the team's first spring contest, which is Feb. 23.
