49ers | Frank Gore defends playcalling late
San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore did not take issue with the team's offensive playcalling in their final series of Super Bowl XLVII. With first-and-goal from the Baltimore Ravens seven-yard-line, the 49ers handed off on first down to RB LaMichael James, who gained two yards, then ran three consecutive passing plays, on which QB Colin Kaepernick targeted WR Michael Crabtree. Gore was on the field for the final three plays, but said he wasn't second-guessing the play selection. Gore had 19 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown in the game. "That's why we've got coaches," Gore said. "Every player wants the ball at that time. But our coaches made the decision and we tried our best to make it happen."
